VIA EUTELSAT :: Poland’s leading news agency turns to satellite for news distribution
PAP, Poland’s leading news agency, has taken possession of “mecom-newsPIPE”,
a new system using satellite and Internet communication to distribute
text, pictures, graphics and data to PAP’s customers.
VSAT System s.j of Poland and Hamburg-based mecom (Medien-Communikations-Gesellschaft mbH), delivered PAP with a complete system serving approximately 100 remote receive stations. Individual delivery of news content, and unique forward-errorcorrection (FEC) protocols for capacity on Eutelsat’s W1 satellite are two new features of the system.
“We have made a big step forward in modernising our technology”, said Grzegorz Eider, Vice-President of PAP. “With the successful completion of this project, we have entirely upgraded our system with a powerful customer tool”.
