The HOT BIRD satellites provide full coverage of Europe and also take in parts of Africa and Asia, including the entire Middle East. A Superbeam enables Direct-To-Home reception in beam centre with antennae smaller than 60 cm and a Widebeam, with slightly larger antennas, offers reception throughout Europe, North Africa and as far east as Moscow and Dubai.
HOT BIRD 2 provides a total of twenty active channels, each of which can be independently configured to operate within the Widebeam or the Superbeam coverage.
