HOT BIRD™ 8 :: 13° EAST
With a launch mass of 4.9 tonnes HOT BIRD™ 8 is the largest and most powerful broadcast satellite serving Europe.
Designed for television and radio broadcasting, the satellite has 64 Ku-band transponders which span the entire range of frequencies used at Eutelsat's HOT BIRD™ neighbourhood.
In conjunction with HOT BIRD™ 6 and HOT BIRD™ 9, which was launched in December 2008, HOT BIRD™ 8 will also contribute to raising in-orbit redundancy at Eutelsat’s HOT BIRD™ neighbourhood to industry-leading levels.
