Transforming the navigation of free-to-air satellite TV channels
free-to-air TV channels
Sat.tv is a new-generation Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) designed to enhance the free-to-air viewing experience for consumers and increase broadcaster engagement with their audience.
Broadcasters can enter programme schedules and information which are displayed in real-time through the app. The user-friendly EPG interface is available for viewers in five languages (English, French, Russian, Italian, Arabic) and can access programme details in up to 40 languages.
Sat.tv was launched in April 2016 for homes equipped for DTH reception from Eutelsat’s HOTBIRD neighbourhood and has already registered almost one million downloads. It is now available to DTH-equipped homes in the Middle East and North Africa that receive free-to-air channels from 7/8° West.
The app gives users extensive access to detailed programmes in the HOT BIRD and 7/8° West channel line-ups, with options to browse by time, channel or type of content. Preferred content can be selected in one click, and personalised recommendations generated based on viewer tastes. Viewers can also share any content of the app live on their social media profiles.
Sat.tv is available for tablets and smartphones and can be downloaded free-of-charge from App Store and Google Play Store.
