In rail transport, a service developed by a consortium uniting Eutelsat, Alstom, Orange and Cap Gemini provides Internet connectivity in high-speed trains. Following a trial period in 2009, the service was launched at the end of 2010 on all lines in the TGV East European network by France’s national railway company (SNCF).
For in-flight broadband services, Eutelsat new Air Access solutions will allow aeronautical service providers to offer passengers top-quality Internet access, videostreaming and GSM services via tablets, smartphones and laptops throughout Europe.
