When Unicom Air Net wanted to deploy an inflight communications network to provide broadband internet services to mobile platforms, they turned to Eutelsat and the extensive coverage of EUTELSAT 172B.

With 11 High Throughput spot beams, the EUTELSAT 172B satellite is optimised for inflight broadband in busy Asian and trans-Pacific flight paths.

Working with Eutelsat, Unicom Air Net developed an inflight communications network that not only connects to China Unicom’s terrestrial network, but also covers the ocean, enabling them to meet their clients’ needs and provide efficient, reliable broadband connectivity to aircraft.
