Leading DTH, cable, IP and DTT delivery in EMEA, the HOTBIRD video neighbourhood is home to 10 premium DTH platforms and reaches almost 100% cable and IPTV penetration in the region.

Over 600 pay-TV channels, 400 free-to-air channels, 300 HDTV channels and five UHD channels broadcast from 13° East. In addition to broadcasting television services, the system provides over 500 radio stations and multimedia services.

Designed for television and radio broadcasting, the HOTBIRD 13B satellite has 64 Ku-band transponders spanning the entire range of frequencies used at Eutelsat's HOTBIRD neighbourhood.

With three high-power satellites, the HOTBIRD family at 13° East forms the largest broadcasting systems in EMEA, delivering 1000 television channels to more than 135 million TV homes in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Direct-To-Home reception in beam centre is possible with antennae smaller than 70 cm, and with slightly larger antennas throughout Europe, North Africa and as far East as Moscow and Dubai.

HOTBIRD 13C is part of Eutelsat's 13° East neighbourhood of three high-power satellites serving Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. This flagship position broadcasts over 1000 television channels to over 135 million homes and is Europe's prime orbital location for channels broadcast.

Further advancing the development of digital, HDTV and UHD, DTH reception in the beam centre is possible with antennae smaller than 70 cm, and with slightly larger antennas throughout Europe, North Africa and as far East as Moscow and Dubai. The satellites also deliver channels to cable and DTT networks, as well as add-on TV coverage needed for triple-play offers.

The HOTBIRD 13E satellite is located at 13° East, Eutelsat’s premium video neighbourhood for cable and satellite broadcasting in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

Together with HOTBIRD 13B and 13C, the satellites provide industry-leading levels of security and in-orbit redundancy for broadcast clients at 13° East. Equipped with 64 high-power Ku-band transponders spanning the entire range of 102 Ku-band frequencies at 13° East, the HOTBIRD satellites deliver customers exceptional levels of security for the development of digital entertainment services, HDTV and UHD channels.
