Eutelsat and EuroSkyPark expand satellite connectivity for critical energy infrastructure
  • Expanded capacity agreement for EUTELSAT 10B supports Amprion’s onshore substations and North Sea offshore infrastructure
  • Demonstrates the role of flexible, scalable GEO capacity in strengthening energy network resilience
  • Builds on an established partnership spanning GEO and OneWeb LEO connectivity

Paris, 20 October 2026 – Eutelsat (ISIN: FR0010221234 – Euronext Paris / London Stock Exchange: ETL) today announced an expansion of its capacity agreement with EuroSkyPark, a German specialist in secure communications for critical infrastructure, to support Amprion, one of Germany’s largest electricity transmission system operators.

The expansion extends satellite connectivity from Amprion’s onshore substations across Germany to its North Sea offshore infrastructure, highlighting the demand for resilient communications across critical energy networks. EUTELSAT 10B’s flexible, scalable GEO capacity enables EuroSkyPark to connect additional sites while providing redundancy independent of terrestrial infrastructure.

Combining Eutelsat’s satellite capacity with EuroSkyPark’s expertise in dedicated communications networks, the solution supports essential links between energy assets and grid control operations. It builds on the companies’ established relationship spanning GEO and OneWeb LEO connectivity, enabling EuroSkyPark to address both primary and backup communications needs.

Pascal Fallet, Vice President for Connectivity, Europe commented: “Our expanded partnership with EuroSkyPark demonstrates the essential role of satellite in connecting and supporting critical infrastructure. For energy operators, an independent communications link provides vital redundancy when terrestrial connections are disrupted. EUTELSAT 10B brings the reliability, coverage and flexibility to support these requirements and scale as their networks develop.”

Thomas Maul, CEO of EuroSkyPark, added: “Energy operators need reliable communications tailored to the demands of their infrastructure. Our partnership with Eutelsat enables us to design and operate dedicated networks that meet these requirements, providing an independent connection between critical sites and control centres.”

Eutelsat expands LEO connectivity in Portugal with MEO
  • MEO to integrate Eutelsat’s OneWeb connectivity services in Portugal
  • Builds on Eutelsat’s longstanding infrastructure partnership with MEO
  • Strengthens connectivity resilience for critical infrastructure and municipalities

Paris, 23 September 2026 – Eutelsat (SIN: FR0010221234 – Euronext Paris / London Stock Exchange: ETL) and MEO, Portugal’s leading telecommunications operator, today announced a new partnership agreement to expand the delivery of Eutelsat’s OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) connectivity services in Portugal.

Under the agreement, MEO will integrate Eutelsat’s OneWeb LEO services into its connectivity solutions, combining satellite, fibre and 5G technologies, to provide resilient backup connectivity for businesses, public administrations, municipalities and critical infrastructure operators across the country.

The agreement builds on a longstanding infrastructure partnership, with MEO hosting Eutelsat’s ground station infrastructure for several years, supporting first its GEO fleet and now the OneWeb LEO constellation. Eutelsat and MEO work closely together to support service continuity and ensure security across both sites.

The expansion into LEO services marks the next step in the partnership, strengthening Eutelsat’s route to market and brings LEO connectivity to a broader range of customers across Portugal. It also demonstrates the growing demand for secure and resilient connectivity delivered through trusted European operators and infrastructure.

Jean-François Fallacher, CEO, Eutelsat said: “This agreement is an important step in expanding Eutelsat’s LEO services in Portugal. Together with MEO, we are expanding access to OneWeb through a trusted European partnership, supporting Europe’s need for greater sovereignty over critical connectivity. For businesses, public services and critical infrastructure across Portugal, our OneWeb services provide an important additional layer of resilience alongside terrestrial networks.”

Ana Figueiredo, CEO, MEO said: “A network’s resilience begins with its ability not to rely on a single technology. That is why we are combining the strength of our fibre and 5G networks with Eutelsat’s satellite connectivity, creating a multi-layered communications architecture that is more responsive in critical situations. This partnership enables us to bring this capability to businesses, public bodies and organisations that cannot afford to stop, ensuring connectivity where it is most needed and when the continuity of communications is most critical. It is also a step towards building a European connectivity ecosystem that is more resilient, self-sufficient and fit for the future.”
