Eutelsat Renews with Télédiffusion d'Algérie on EUTELSAT 7 West A
The long-term agreement keeps Algeria's national channels at the region's most-watched satellite position
Renewal confirms 7/8° West as the reference destination for MENA's public broadcasters
Paris, 7 October 2026 - Eutelsat (ISIN: FR0010221234 - Euronext Paris / London Stock Exchange: ETL) today announced the renewal of its strategic partnership with Télédiffusion d'Algérie (TDA), Algeria's national broadcasting network operator. The partnership covers the continued distribution of television channels across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) via the EUTELSAT 7 West A satellite.
Under the new agreement, TDA will continue to use Eutelsat's satellite capacity at the 7/8° West orbital position to deliver Algerian television channels to audiences throughout the region. Reaching 70 million homes, 7/8° West is the leading orbital position for satellite television across MENA, bringing together major public and private broadcasters and an extensive portfolio of Arabic and international content.
The renewal extends a long-standing collaboration between the two organisations and ensures the long-term continuity of TDA's satellite broadcasting services. As the single broadcaster in the Algerian market, TDA plays a central role in bringing the country's television channels to viewers at home and across the region. Eutelsat's extensive coverage across MENA gives TDA the reach, reliability and broadcast quality it needs to connect Algerian content with the largest TV audience in the region.
Sandy Saade, Sales Director MENA at Eutelsat, commented: “TDA is a strategic partner for Eutelsat in Algeria, and this renewal reflects the strength of a relationship built over many years. We are proud to keep supporting the distribution of Algerian television to audiences across MENA from 7/8° West, the region's reference position for satellite TV.”
